Howe Ridge Fire Update Howe Ridge Fire Update Located in northwestern Montana, the Howe Ridge Fire started Saturday, August 11th. Weather conditions were very unfavorable. Howe Ridge Fire Update Hot and dry conditions prompted this fire to grow 2,600 acres in just four days and is still at zero percent containment. Howe Ridge Fire Update Due to fast growth, the fire prompted rapid evacuations. Unfortunately, multiple private residences have been destroyed as well as historic buildings along Lake McDonald.
