Nashville tornado Nest camera footage
Frightening video from a Nest camera shows what appears to be the tornado that hit Nashville in the overnight hours.Power flashes are visibile in the distance before the wind picks up in this neighborhood, driving in the rain nearly horizontally.

Intense winds, tornadoes, heavy rain and large hail moved through the Tennessee Valley Monday night and Tuesday morning. The damage reports coming out of Nashville are indicating it was a large and long lived tornado. Stay tuned for more updates on this tornado and the damage it caused.

Looking Back
Checking back on VIPIR Radar from early this morning you can see all the rotation from this storm. Checking the velocity from the radar site north of Nashville after midnight, the rotation is very strong and clear. The velocity shows the inbound and outbound winds in relation to the radar. Just looking at these maps you can clearly see a tornado with strong rotation.
