Ocean Floods Massachusetts Town After Seawall Breaches During Nor’easter

The waves breached a seawall in Scituate, Massachusetts, on Thursday, January 4, as a powerful Nor’easter battered the East Coast.

The National Guard was dispatched to the area as the water poured over the seawall, flooding area streets with icy sea water, a news report said. Those living along the shore had already been asked to evacuate.

Thursday morning, Scituate was under both a Coastal Flood Warning and a Blizzard Warning.

 

Not far from Scituate, Brant Rock also saw storm surge during the winter storm.

Firefighters and the National Guard responded to two rescues in Brant Rock, according to a news report. People living along Massachusetts south shore were encouraged to evacuate ahead of the storm, which affected most of the east coast.
