Springtime temperatures are expected throughout much of the continental United States this week.  One region, however, may experience record-breaking warmth!  The Pacific Northwest will enjoy afternoon temperatures in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. With afternoon highs as much as 20 degrees above normal, Portland has a solid chance of reaching new records on Tuesday and Wednesday. The warmth will expand into the interior Northwest as well.  Residents of cities like Spokane and Boise can roll down the windows and take off their jackets. Heading into the end of April and the beginning of May, warmer than average conditions are likely throughout the western United States.
