With Oklahoma possibly breaking a new record for their tornado-free streak for the year, let's see what is average for the state. The National Weather Service Office in Norman, Oklahoma posted this photo Thursday with tornado facts for the state dating from 1950 to 2017. With the average amount of tornadoes per year for the state being 56, it is hard to believe that there has not been one tornado in Oklahoma so far this year. The latest start for tornadoes in Oklahoma was on April 26, 1962. https://twitter.com/WeatherNation/status/989560535422136320 For more information on the possible record breaker, check here: https://media.weathernationtv.com/news/oklahomas-tornado-free-streak-nears-remarkable-record/
