The Southwest is no stranger to the heat but this will be down right unbearable. Excessive Heat Watches and Warnings are already posted all across Arizona, southern Nevada, and majority of California. These are posted to make sure you stay safe in this heat because when temperatures are rising near-record level, heat related illnesses can occur quickly. Widespread potential record highs are possible starting on Monday and continue into the new work week.   80s and 90s might not sound bad for highs but these are 10 to 20 degrees above average for Los Angeles, CA. Even Phoenix will have temperatures about 10 degrees above average. Tuesday's high will be close to 120 degrees! But hey, at least it's a dry heat.   For WeatherNation, Meteorologist Kate Mantych
