Traffic camera from MNDOT] The morning drive to start the work week has been slow and go in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes as a round of heavy snow has been falling. Winter weather alerts are in effect across Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Up to a foot of snow is possible along Lake Superior, with lighter accumulations across the rest of the region. A low pressure center will move across Lake Michigan into Canada throughout the day. Heavy bands of snow will continue to fall behind the low in Upper Michigan and Wisconsin during the afternoon. As the low moves into Ontario, snowfall will gradually diminish tonight (Monday).
