Tornado Threat Across The Plains Today

A stationary frontal boundary extending from southeast Colorado to northern Missouri will be the focus for showers and storms today.  Some of those storms could have rotation resulting in tornadoes.  Here is the latest on today's tornado risk.

Severe Outlook

Severe storms possible from Kansas down to the Texas/Mexico border today.  All modes of severe weather will be possible, but the tornado threat will be highest over the plains of Colorado, Kansas and Missouri.

Tornado Potential

Here is the latest tornado risk forecast.  The 5% risk over Kansas City down to Wichita will mean the possibility of a few tornadoes today.  Please be weather alert and prepared to head to your safe spot when severe weather strikes.

Forecast

Today's storms will be building during the afternoon hours, but could last well into the evening hours.  Areas of Kansas and Missouri and the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles could see intense storms with tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds all afternoon and evening.
