NORTHWEST - It's been a dry season for many ski resorts in the western U.S. with most of our top ski resorts suffering with one of the worst ski seasons in 10 years. For example, Stevens Pass in Washington State averages 460" of yearly snowfall and this season (2023-2024) we have only received 168" of snowfall. There is still more season to go so don't give up just yet.
Many ski resorts across the Pacific Northwest and into the Rocky Mountains have seen well below-average seasonal snowfall.
The good news is that there is snowfall in the forecast for some of these areas, including northern Idaho and Montana that are under winter weather advisories tonight through Monday midday. Snowfall totals are expected to be between 1"-3" with isolated totals up to 6".
In addition to northern Idaho and Montana, other areas in the northwest will see snowfall to start the week and continue through the next couple of days.
Here's a look at the forecast timing over the next couple of days as waves of activity move into the northwestern United States.
