TEXAS - The death toll has risen to 104 in Texas after devastating flooding swept through the Texas Hill Country. Of those fatalities, at least 84 are from Kerr County, including several children who were at Camp Mystic. Several relief organizations are on the ground as the long road to recovery begins. The organization is located in Kerr County, serving hot, chef-prepared meals to victims, first responders, and volunteers impacted by catastrophic flooding. &nbsp;Mercy Chef’s first meal went out on July 5 to first responders and search and rescue crews. Public meal service begins July 6, at Citywest Church, 3139 Junction Highway in Ingram. Alana Cameron was born and raised in Canada in the city of Mississauga, just outside of Toronto. Alana is the oldest of 4 siblings, all close in age, and grew up playing outside with them in all types of weather. After graduating high school, Alana moved to study at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna for a year before transferring to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Atmospheric Science. Upon completion, Alana moved back to Toronto where she completed a post-grad degree in Meteorology at York University. After her post-grad, she went on to complete another post-grad in Broadcast Journalism - TV News at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. During her final year of studies she had the privilege of interning with the best in the business in Canada at The Weather Network. Once she finished her internship, she got the call from small-town Denison, Texas where she accepted a job as an on-air meteorologist at KTEN-TV, right in tornado alley, covering severe weather from Sherman/Denison (North Texas) to Ada (Southern Oklahoma). After the most active tornado season Oklahoma had seen in May 2019 (105 tornadoes!) Alana is excited to join WeatherNation to cover weather all across the nation. WEST - Heat alerts have been issued across the western U.S. from Arizona to Washington State. The cause of this heat wave is an upper-level ridge building in from Mexico. This will be responsible for the intense heat in the southwest.<h3>Southwest</h3>Heat advisories (orange), extreme heat warnings (pink), and extreme heat watches (red) have been issued for portions of California, Nevada, and Arizona through Thursday. Temperatures may rise to 110-116°F in some of these locations. Too hot for the human body to handle. Unfortunately, heat is the deadliest weather phenomenon in the USA.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 205707-1751943586022.png">Here's a look at our forecasted temperatures in comparison to average. Wednesday looks to be the hottest day of the week.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 205719-1751943611613.png">HeatRisk levels are upwards of extreme as well on Wednesday, which is the highest level of HeatRisk. Please be cautious during this heat spell.<h3><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 205714-1751943642911.png">Northwest</h3>Heat advisories have been issued through Tuesday evening in the northwest, too. Temperatures here may also reach the triple digits on Tuesday afternoon.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 205723-1751943682304.png">There will be some relief for the Pacific Northwest by Wednesday as a quick moving system moves through.<h3><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 205729-1751943708287.png">Long Range Outlook - CPC</h3>The Climate Prediction Center keeps the western U.S. looking hot. Dangerous Heat Building Out West

EAST - Hot temperatures continue out east as a ridge of high pressure slides east. Heat advisories remain in place until Tuesday evening along the eastern seaboard for heat indices that may reach upwards of 105 to 110.<h2><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 182357-1751935724728.png">Severe Outlooks</h2>Severe weather outlooks have been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday out east as a cold front moves into this hot and unstable air mass. On Tuesday, the risk is SLIGHT (level 2 out of 5) across portions of New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 180014-1751935789350.png">On Wednesday, as the front slides east, the risk is MARGINAL (level 1 out of 5) for severe storms across the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, and Delware.<h2><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 180019-1751935841230.png">Timing</h2>Storms will happen along and ahead of the frontal boundary. Hot Weather Brings a Shot at Storms Out East

Severe storms brought damaging winds and hail on Sunday, and that threat will continue overnight.<h1>Overnight</h1>Overnight, the SPC has dropped the risk to slight (level 2 out of 5) for severe storms, including the threat of isolated tornadoes, with significant wind and hail potential outlined.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/overnight plainssss-1751937486105.png">Overnight, there is an isolated tornado threat including the cities of Sterling, Colorado, and Ord, Nebraska.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 210930-1751944181717.png">Gusts 75+ mph will be possible as these storms push through overnight.Storms have fired up and will continue into the overnight hours. Have ways to get severe weather warnings overnight in case severe weather persists after dark.<video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/fa-1751935580264.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><h2>Tuesday</h2>The SPC has issued a SLIGHT risk for severe storms in portions of Oklahoma as this cold front dives south. Plains Storms Move South Through Tuesday

Originally born in Spokane, Washington,  Jackie's Dad was in the Air Force which led her to a life of travel. She has lived in Wichita, Okinawa, Japan, Baltimore, New Jersey, Indiana and South Carolina.  After graduating from Kadena High School, in Okinawa Japan, she got a full basketball scholarship to Coppin State College. On the court she was a 4-year starter and reached over 1000 points in her basketball career. She was also named Athlete of the Year for the whole university in 2002. Off the court, she earned a degree in Broadcast Production/English.

After college, she landed a job as a radio personality. Jackie went on to have a successful career for 12 years working at KXLY broadcast center. While on the radio, she decided to change career. Jackie went back to school, graduating from the Mississippi State Meteorology Broadcast Program. From snow, to tornadoes, to hurricanes, she has had experience forecasting all these events.

A frontal boundary, trough, and an unstable airmass will bring severe weather on Wednesday and Thursday across portions of the plains and Midwest. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk for severe storms on Wednesday, with damaging winds and hail being the primary concern. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/wednesda y-1751935876257.png">As a cold front moves east on Thursday, we can expect another round of strong to severe storms across the Dakotas, Nebraska, and Minnesota. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/thrusss-1751935956988.png"><h1>Timing </h1><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/seva-1751937209410.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><h2>Rainfall Forecast</h2>As we see rounds of rain moving through, heavy rainfall will be possible for some. Severe Storms Continue In Northern Plains This Week

Tropical Storm Chantal formed Saturday morning and made landfall early Sunday morning with sustained winds of 50 mph. Winds have knocked down some palm fronds and lead to a foot or two of storm surge so far. Chantal turned into an inland flooding threat, especially in North Carolina.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 073731-1751895631663.png"><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot 2025-07-07 074408-1751895856913.png"><h1>Forecast</h1>The remnants of Chantal will continue to move Northeast and eventually get picked-up by an inbound cold front and carried back out to sea. Chantal Weakens After Making Landfall Sunday Morning

Following the prolific start to the season, the Eastern Pacific remains quite active as the National Hurricane Center is tracking two different areas of interest southwest of Mexico. Invest 96E or the orange highlighted area has a medium chance of development in the next couple of days. The chances have backed off as it appears less likely that something will come together. The region outlined in yellow is quickly falling apart with 0% chance of development.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/07/tomer tropics epac-1751913671695.jpg">The spaghetti plots show 96-E remaining well south of Mexico as it churns westward.
