Another wave train is setting up across the West early this week, following a wet weekend on the West Coast. This low pulls in cold air bringing more widespread rain and snow across the West through Tuesday.

High-elevation snowfall on the order of a foot is likely for the Sierra Nevada of California and the Cascades of Oregon and Washington. A few winter alerts are in effect to account for that mountain snow.

The Cascades have the highest chance of accumulating over two feet of snow with our rounds of precipitation. Travel in and around the higher elevations will be difficult at times through at least the middle of the week.

Heavy rain is expected along the immediate coastline where up to 2" of additional rain is likely. Mudslides could be triggered in some of the heavier downpours. Drive carefully and be mindful of high water potential.
