Portions of west Texas and eastern New Mexico will remain under fire danger concern into this evening with critical threats ongoing. On Sunday afternoon, wind gusts were extremely strong, including a 93 mph wind report in Organ, New Mexico.

Red Flag Warnings are issued when certain wildfire criteria are met, so please avoid outdoor burning or mowing the grass on Monday afternoon if you live in areas under fire weather alerts.

Scenes like this one that came out of Amarillo, TX on Sunday, mimicked the dust picked up from the storm in The Wizard of Oz! With another day ahead with critical and elevated threats for fire danger, expect to see more scenes like this out of the Lone Star State.
