Freezing rain is causing problems for commuters Monday morning as there are reports of numerous crashes and roads being shut down.
One of the bigger accidents reported this morning was a 35-car pileup on I-75 in North Georgia.

As of Monday afternoon, multiple winter weather alerts were still in effect for parts of the East.
The wintry precipitation is expected to last through the evening and move offshore after midnight.
