Alana Cameron was born and raised in Canada in the city of Mississauga, just outside of Toronto. Alana is the oldest of 4 siblings, all close in age, and grew up playing outside with them in all types of weather. After graduating high school, Alana moved to study at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna for a year before transferring to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Atmospheric Science. Upon completion, Alana moved back to Toronto where she completed a post-grad degree in Meteorology at York University. After her post-grad, she went on to complete another post-grad in Broadcast Journalism - TV News at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. During her final year of studies she had the privilege of interning with the best in the business in Canada at The Weather Network. Once she finished her internship, she got the call from small-town Denison, Texas where she accepted a job as an on-air meteorologist at KTEN-TV, right in tornado alley, covering severe weather from Sherman/Denison (North Texas) to Ada (Southern Oklahoma). After the most active tornado season Oklahoma had seen in May 2019 (105 tornadoes!) Alana is excited to join WeatherNation to cover weather all across the nation. WEST - After heavy rain, heavy snow, and strong winds over the last few days, another Pacific Trough will be moving onshore tonight. Our forecast models show rain starting for Washington and Oregon states tonight, and diving south through Texas as we head into Thursday and Friday.<video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/11-19_WEst bams-1763582276624.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video>The higher elevations will get additional snow with more rain accumulations for the lower elevations.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 125426-1763582303437.png">Southern California could see several inches of heavy rainfall, which may lead to a flooding risk, especially because we have had a lot of recent rainfall. The higher elevations can expect up to five to ten with localized amounts of 16 inches of snowfall.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 125430-1763582341119.png">The Weather Prediction Center (WPC) already has a marginal (level 1 out of 4) threat for Southern California to see heavy rainfall and flooding Thursday through Friday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 125434-1763582351812.png">The National Weather Service has also added winter storm watches for the Riverside County Mountains and San Bernardino County mountains for Thursday through Saturday, with the heaviest snowfall expected Thursday night into Friday morning. Rob grew up in South Florida, where daily afternoon storms and hurricanes piqued his interest in meteorology early on. That interest was fostered by his teachers and his father, who one time brought him onto the roof of their home to watch a funnel cloud move through the Everglades several miles away. Years of filmmaking and tv production in high school gradually pushed him toward broadcast meteorology at Florida State University, where he joined and eventually led the student run daily weather show. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology, he began his career at KESQ in Palm Springs, California before heading to KFSN in Fresno and WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. He has covered a diverse array of extreme weather events, including haboobs and flash flooding in the desert, extreme snow in the Sierra, hurricanes, and Appalachian ice storms. He also enjoys telling stories and reporting about weather issues.

A cut-off low-pressure system has been slowly moving onshore from the Pacific in California, sending rounds of showers and thunderstorms into the Four Corners and Great Basin. This has led to up to 3-5 inches of rain in portions of Arizona, producing flash flooding issues. Large hail, up to the size of quarters, was also reported around the Phoenix metro area on Tuesday. This system will continue to produce heavy downpours and mountain snow as it slowly moves east to end the week, before another system fires up a new round of storms.<h2>Flooding</h2>Flood watches remain in effect into Thursday morning for a few counties in Central Arizona. Interstates could be impacted, especially I-17 but I-40 and I-10 could see impacts as well.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 124919-1763581789350.png">As another system brings moisture back to the region to end the week, additional flooding (as well as thunderstorms and snow) will be expected.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 062406-1763558749439.png">The Weather Prediction Center is highlighting isolated flash flooding threats through the end of the week. Additional outlooks may be needed for Saturday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 124923-1763581798173.png"><h2>Forecast</h2>Scattered heavy downpours will continue to shift slowly east on Wednesday, with heavy rain sticking around AZ and UT for much of the day. Wednesday night into Thursday will see the heaviest precipitation shifting into NM and CO as the low heads into the Great Plains. Rain will stack along the Front Range of Colorado Thursday into Friday, with heavy mountain snow expected. Rain totals through Saturday could easily top an inch or two in many locations, sometimes coming down very quickly.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 125056-1763581863243.png"><h2>Snow</h2>The mountains around the Four Corners can expect a healthy round of snow with the back-to-back lows through the end of the week. 6-12 inches or more can be expected on the highest summits. The snow has prompted winter weather advisories for portions of UT, CO, and NM.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 125111-1763581880347.png">Will Denver record their first snow of the season with this system? It looks too warm for the Front Range, but it can't be completely ruled out. Four Corners Expecting More Flooding Rain, Mountain Snow

Originally born in Spokane, Washington,  Jackie's Dad was in the Air Force which led her to a life of travel. She has lived in Wichita, Okinawa, Japan, Baltimore, New Jersey, Indiana and South Carolina.  After graduating from Kadena High School, in Okinawa Japan, she got a full basketball scholarship to Coppin State College. On the court she was a 4-year starter and reached over 1000 points in her basketball career. She was also named Athlete of the Year for the whole university in 2002. Off the court, she earned a degree in Broadcast Production/English.

After college, she landed a job as a radio personality. Jackie went on to have a successful career for 12 years working at KXLY broadcast center. While on the radio, she decided to change career. Jackie went back to school, graduating from the Mississippi State Meteorology Broadcast Program. From snow, to tornadoes, to hurricanes, she has had experience forecasting all these events.

Another November day in the south and another day of more record warmth! The high-pressure system bringing the record temperatures is sliding east and records across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Missouri! Texarkana, Arkansas, saw a record high of 86°, beating out the previous record of 83° on Tuesday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 090555-1763568363673.png"><h1>Southern Plains</h1>Although Texas is no stranger to heat, temperatures are still feeling more like summer, with some locales reaching high temperatures 15-20°+ above average! There will be a shift in the pattern, as some cities, including Oklahoma City, will see the temperatures drop to the 60s on Thursday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 125239-1763581967532.png"><h1>Southeast</h1>As the ridge migrates further east later this week, places like Tennessee and North Carolina will get a bump to their afternoon highs. Temperatures have been hot in the south-central U.S., especially in Texas, where record highs have been set over the last few days. Thunderstorms look at hot and humid conditions as fuel. The system currently over the Four Corners will move into west Texas. Storms are expected to erupt in the evening and could gradually intensify.<video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/11-19_bams3k-1763581325914.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video>The Storm Prediction Center has issued a MARGINAL (level 1 out of 5) risk for severe storms on Wednesday in portions of West Texas and into the Red River Valley of Oklahoma. The primary concern is large hail, but a few damaging wind gusts can't be ruled out at this point.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 123922-1763581509835.png">There are a few things that might hinder the severity of these storms. Questionable timing on the storms could keep them from reaching their full potential. Since storms could hold off until after sunset, the window to tap into the unstable air that builds up during the day could be narrow. One ingredient we know we have plenty of is moisture.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 124543-1763581549518.png">The Weather Prediction Center has also issued excessive rainfall outlooks starting now and continuing through the end of the week. The most concern for flash flooding will be on Thursday, when the second big push of widespread storms will move through.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 124600-1763581584789.png"><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-19 124607-1763581592032.png">But will that second batch of storms be severe? That's a bit up in the air still. Since storms will likely survive overnight, it will depend on how strong those are. If they are strong in the morning, an afternoon severe threat will be limited. It is that time of year again—when millions of Americans hit the road or the skies to connect with friends and family. AAA is expecting a record number of travelers this year, a number surpassing a record-breaking 2024! Most travelers will hit the road vs flying.<div data-youtube-video=""><iframe width="640" height="480" allowfullscreen="false" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/o78PUXSJCJU" start="0"></iframe></div><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 104347-1763401813998.png">With millions hitting the roads, traffic will be hard to avoid, no matter where you are heading. However, there will be some better times to do your traveling. AAA suggests starting the journey early but with a reasonable night of sleep the night prior.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-17 105052-1763401888415.png">With so many traveling over the holidays, there are some favored destinations. A Record Breaking Thanksgiving Travel Week Expected

OHIO RIVER VALLEY - We have had multiple reports of hail across Illinois and Indiana.(above) Bellair, IL, saw 2.50" hail as of Tuesday afternoon. The severe threat remains in place through this Wednesday morning.<h2>Ohio Valley</h2>The SPC has maintained a SLIGHT risk for severe weather along the same warm front across parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Most storms should be hail-producers, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-18 193324-1763519649318.png">Storms will continue to ride along a low-pressure system through Wednesday morning. Make sure to have multiple ways to get alerts. <h1>OVERNIGHT</h1>Winter weather alerts remain in place for heavy snow in northern Maine, mixed snow and ice from northern New York through New Hampshire, and even lake effect snow warnings for western Pennsylvania. These alerts will remain in place through Monday.<img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Web1-1763375387255.png">Snow will be possible overnight and into Monday, with a few lake-effect bands possible. Weekend System Brings Snow, Ice, & Storms to the Northeast

Taban Sharifi grew up in Southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego. She is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) with the American Meteorological Society (AMS). She has a B.S. in Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Environmental Sciences with a minor in Environmental Systems and Society from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Go Bruins! While in school, Taban was a meteorology intern with NBC LA. There she helped forecast daily weather for the greater Los Angeles region and created a playbook to deploy weather sensors for NBC owned-and-operated stations across the country. Her first on-air job took her to San Angelo, Texas, where she was a morning meteorologist and co-anchor. Working in West Texas gave her knowledge and experience covering severe storms. From there, she moved to Palm Springs, California. People think forecasting in California is sunshine all the time, but with temperatures in the 120’s, wildfires, damaging winds, floodings, and earthquakes, the forecasting kept her very busy! She also worked there as a general assignment reporter and told community stories. Taban is excited for the challenge and opportunity to forecast nationally with WeatherNation. She also looks forward to exploring all that Colorado has to offer!

Our first major lake effect snow event wraps up in parts of the northeast. Winds have been from the west and northwest, which supported heavy snow on the east side of Lake Erie, Ontario, and Michigan with heavy snow seen in the U.P. of Michigan from Lake Superior. Winter alerts expired Wednesday morning, but expect some slippery driving through the day.
