Severe storms slammed the Midwest and Mid-South on Tuesday, producing widespread wind, hail, and tornadoes. The tornado surveys will be coming in the next few days as National Weather Service officials are able to determine the damage. Some of the more notable storm cells and tornado warnings from Tuesday that we will monitor include Charleston, WV, Louisville, KY, Lexington, KY and Sunbright TN.

On Tuesday morning, this student was caught in a storm and was completely knocked off their feet at the University of Kentucky. Winds were clocked in West Virginia and Kentucky at over 90 mph - that's hurricane-strength winds.

One of the more powerful storms was a tornado that tracked from Southeast Ohio into central West Virginia, producing widespread damage for communities on both sides of the Ohio River. As a result of the storm (which happened shortly before noon Tuesday), over 135k customers were without power in West Virginia alone!

Later in the day, a tornado touched down in Sunbright, TN, about 1 hour west of Knoxville.

And Tuesday night, an apparent tornado in the Louisville metro flipped semis and cars on the way home from work.
