Snow fell early this morning in the southern Plains and Ozarks and now is on the move into the Mid-South where rain changes over to snow overnight. We picked up on half a foot of snow in parts of the Ozarks with fat flakes flying earlier Monday.

As temperatures fall again tonight we will see rain change over to snow for West Tennessee and Kentucky. We could even see flakes fly in Nashville, Lexington and Cincy overnight before our system quickly clears out of the region.

Winter weather alerts are in effect for portions of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio through Tuesday, as this system pushes to the northeast and moderate impacts are expected for portions of the Ozarks today and the Ohio Valley tonight.

Snow accumulation will all depend on the temperature profiles but expect up to 1" through Nashville, worst case. Anything that does fall will mostly stick to elevated surfaces, meaning bridges will be slick Tuesday morning.
