It's funny how some things work out, weather-wise. We've gone from record-setting snow not even a week ago, to record-setting rain near the Gulf of Mexico.

Other parts of the Gulf Coast States picked up 2-3 inches of rain so far. While this is enough to overwhelm some of the soils like in Lake Houston, most should avoid any flooding problems later today. A look at some of the additional rainfall amounts keeps many under one inch of rain.

Showers and a rumble of thunder or two will press off toward the east Monday. The most widespread activity will favor the morning hours, but will still be possible even this evening.

Keep the rain jacket handy, more rain and a few severe storms will be possible later this week!
