10. Record Finish
Mitch Seavey not only set the record for fastest time to finish the Iditarod, he was also the oldest winner of the Last Great Race on Earth.
The now 3-time winner beat his son (former record holder) by almost 3 hours.

8. Cold Returned to the Northeast
Following a stretch of record warmth cold returned to the northeastern U.S. setting the stage for one massive Nor’easter to blanket the region in snow.
And thanks to a whole lot of wind and cold, one New York town near Lake Ontario saw a thick coat of ice on just about everything!

Unfortunately this is just the start of the flooding across the western states.
A near record snowpack in many areas, combined with warm temperatures and rain means runoff will be at an all time high this spring.

2. Moose on the Loose
Spring-like temperatures continue in Colorado, but that didn’t stop this guy from hitting the slopes!
Though terrifying, the moose isn’t showing signs of anger– meaning we get this amazing video without anyone getting injured in the process.
