After a winter wallop a few days ago, parts of the Great Plains and Upper Midwest can expect a brief period of above normal temperatures to wrap up the week. Cities that don't have any snow on the ground---the southern Plains, Ohio Valley, etc.---will enjoy even milder conditions.  Even the Northeast will rise above normal for the weekend. Midwestern cities like Kansas City, Chicago, and Cincinnati should make the most of the springlike weather.  It is still winter after all, and another dip in temperatures is on the way for early next week. Looking at the last few days of January and the first few days of February, temperatures will probably rise above average once again. Check your local forecast here. -Meteorologist Joe Astolfi
