SOUTHEAST - rain chances are in the forecast for the southeastern U.S. with an incoming frontal boundary that's expected to move in on Thursday and continue through Friday with a few isolated severe storms for the Georgia and South Carolina coastlines (above).
Storms are a bit feisty on Friday, especially closer to I-95 when the front is able to interact with heat and moisture. The heavier rain will be closer to the Atlantic coast, with little rainfall back through the lower Mississippi Valley where drought is the worst and rain is most needed. Rain totals will be around an inch, with locally higher amounts possible in the Carolinas.
