Excessive Heat Returns to the Northwest Next Week

The air conditioners will be on full blast for parts of the Northwest by the end of the weekend and early next week.  A strong ridge of high pressure will be strengthening over this region for the upcoming weekend and that will allow temperatures to warm above average and staying that way for the start of the next work week.

Forecast

Here is a look at the latest temperature forecast across Washington, Oregon and Idaho from Sunday through Monday.  It doesn't look like it will be a record setting event, but nonetheless it will be well above normal.  If you live in these areas or plan on visiting during this time frame, you will want to be weather aware for possible heat advisories and excessive heat watches.
