<p style="margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 13.5pt; color: #454545;">Rob grew up in South Florida, where daily afternoon storms and hurricanes piqued his interest in meteorology early on. That interest was fostered by his teachers and his father, who one time brought him onto the roof of their home to watch a funnel cloud move through the Everglades several miles away. Years of filmmaking and tv production in high school gradually pushed him toward broadcast meteorology at Florida State University, where he joined and eventually led the student run daily weather show. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology, he began his career at KESQ in Palm Springs, California before heading to KFSN in Fresno and WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. He has covered a diverse array of extreme weather events, including haboobs and flash flooding in the desert, extreme snow in the Sierra, hurricanes, and Appalachian ice storms. He also enjoys telling stories and reporting about weather issues.

<p>We're well on our way to winter, but high temperatures will be soaring across the Western and Central United States to start the month of November. Upper-level ridging is shifting east across the Southwest this weekend before settling over the Southern Plains during the work week. </p><p><br>Numerous high temperature records fell on Sunday across portions of Nebraska and Colorado. Denver hit a monthly record high of 83°.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/record high temps-1762134612913.png">We're well on our way to winter, but high temperatures will soar across the Western and Central United States to start November. Upper-level ridging is expected to build across the Southwest before shifting slightly east into this week.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/PIC 2-1762129984288.jpg">A few record highs will be possible in Colorado and Texas into Monday and Tuesday.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 152753-1762122519874.png">Another ridge of high pressure will move in after a cut-off low moves through the Southwest. <p><strong>WEST </strong>- A series of atmospheric rivers have been responsible for wet, windy, and snowy weather in the northwestern U.S over the last few weeks. The next round of rain and snow is taking shape as our next river pushes in. Some areas that received the most recent rainfall picked up a few inches heading into this weekend.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 044135-1762083703616.jpg">Our next system is gathering moisture and will work onshore early this week, bringing back more chances for rain and snow. Here's how much we might be in for over the next few days (below). Wednesday looks to be the day with the most widespread rain, which could lead to a renewed round of flooding. Parts of the northern Cascades could receive a foot or more of snow on the highest peaks. <img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 044313-1762083801790.jpg">With multiple inches of rain on the way, the Weather Prediction Center is already monitoring coastal areas. Starting on Tuesday, the threat for flash flooding will return. Next Big Push Of Moisture in the Northwest

<p>Coastal areas will be dealing with intrusions of ocean water, known as coastal flooding, during the week ahead with the return of king tides!</p><h2>What is a "king tide?"</h2><p>When the gravitational pull of the sun and moon are both higher than normal, high and low tides become more pronounced, leading to flooding during high tide and potentially low water issues during the low tides.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 051621-1762088418982.png">This happens most often from the fall through the spring as the sun's gravitational pull on the earth is the strongest. Despite winter conditions in North America, the sun is actually closest to the earth in early January.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 051520-1762088418986.png"><br><br>King tides are most pronounced when the moon is at its closest point to the Earth in its orbit, which is known as perigee. This is happening at the same time as the full moon for both November and December, creating what's known as a supermoon. During these supermoon events, the moon will be about 14,000 miles closer to the Earth than normal!</p><h2><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 060337-1762088634156.png">November King Tides</h2><p>King tides will be ramping up throughout the week ahead. Note how much the tidal range grows in Charleston from now through Wednesday, increasing from about 6 feet to over 7 feet by Wednesday!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 152938-1762122601054.png">Tides near Miami (Virginia Key below) will also increase this week, increasing from about 2 feet to 3 feet!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 153031-1762122636373.png">Coastal flood alerts will likely be issued as we get closer to the mid-week timeframe, so be sure to check your high tide times locally and avoid areas near the coast during those times.<br><br>December will also feature a round of king tides with another supermoon!</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/11/Screenshot 2025-11-02 054718-1762088653776.png"></p>

<p>An upper-level low has been moving across the country, bringing rainy, windy, and cooler weather to many areas. Heavy rain caused flooding issues in the Northeast on Thursday where over 3 inches of rain fell in New York and New Jersey. <p>I will never forget the time it snowed in southwest Missouri on Halloween. Going from house to house for as long as we could stand it before piling back in the car because we were so cold. It doesn't USUALLY snow that early in Springfield, or any other part of the country for that matter this early into Fall.</p><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/10/Screenshot 2025-10-27 111421-1761585271271.png">So let's see if Mother Nature is feeling in the mood to traumatize more youth this upcoming weekend.</p><h1>Forecast</h1><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/10/2025-10-31 06-01-58-1761912346800.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><p>Low-pressure systems will create some heavy rain in the corners of the country with some drizzle in the Midwest. Clear and dry conditions will persist for much of the country with mild temperatures for many.</p><video src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/10/2025-10-31 06-02-14-1761912160076.mp4" controls="true" width="100%"></video><h1>TROUBLE SPOTS</h1><p>"Trouble" means a lot of different things for people on Halloween. Trouble, to us, is going to mean rain. Not much worse than spending all of that time and energy into a costume just to get rained on. While you might see some rain icons in the forecast in the northeast, there's a strong possibility we kick the rain out by the afternoon/evening, when it matters, except for portions of northern New York and Vermont. We're concerned with some areas in the Northwest, like Seattle, where the rain might be both consistent and heavy at times. Coldest spot will likely be in the Upper Midwest, but any lingering cloud cover should help keep temps from freezing during trick-or-treat hours.</p><h1>PICK OF THE NATION</h1><p><img src="https://media.weathernationtv.com/app/uploads/2025/10/Screenshot 2025-10-27 111630-1761585733352.png">When. Red Flag Warnings are once again in place across southern Wyoming and will stay in effect until Friday evening.

Increasing wind and low humidity are forecast for Friday afternoon, which will bring an increased fire potential to the region. These weather conditions will allow any fires that develop to spread easily and quickly.

Adding insult to injury, drought is in place across this same area, which has likely producing fuels, such as dry or dead vegetation, that would support any wildfires that develop.
