Flash Flood Watches Along the Gulf of Mexico Coast

A slow moving area of heavy rain has been pushing along the Gulf of Mexico coast in Louisiana and Mississippi this morning. Radar estimates have show more than 3" in some areas, with the potential for a couple more inches to fall. Flash Flood Watches continue for coastal areas of Mississippi and Louisiana. A slow moving low pressure center will move through the region into this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will continue with areas of heavy rain. The rainfall will gradually come to an end as the system lifts to the east later this afternoon and evening.
