Heavy Snow for Wyoming, Idaho & Montana This Week

The Pineapple Express is sending waves of heavy snow into Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. There are two additional storm systems through this upcoming weekend. Rich atmospheric moisture (from near Hawaii) gets picked up by the jet stream and then entrained into storm systems before being delivered to the West Coast.

Feet of total accumulation is likely across the mountains of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Look at some of totals that have come out of this firehose of moisture:

With a little more on the way. The heaviest snow, however, is sliding up into Montana and Idaho going forward.

Even with all the snow, it's not stopping the puppers in the region!

The snow will start to break up a little more in the lower elevations on Wednesday.
