Springtime snow has been impacting the northern tier of the country this week and we expect the northern Rockies to get in on the action too through the weekend. Steady snow, with some spots seeing close to a foot, is likely from Thursday through Sunday. Winter alerts are in effect through Monday, with more impactful snow expected Saturday - Monday for parts of Wyoming.

A low-pressure system brings rain and snow to Idaho and western Montana through Friday before energy spreads east into Wyoming and eastern Montana on Saturday and Sunday. The lower elevations will see rainfall while areas over 4k feet could see accumulating, wet heavy snow.

The winter storm impacts will be minor to major across Wyoming the next 3 days.
