https://twitter.com/WeatherNation/status/966371114900275200 Cold air sinking behind a cold front is creating icy travel conditions as moisture is lifted up and over the front as humidity continues to stream into the Central and Southern Plains. Ice Storm Warnings are in effect west of Dallas from near the Red River to Abilene where up to a .50" of ice may accumulate. Winter Weather Advisories are widespread from Illinois to Texas for a .10" to .25" of icy accumulations. A low pressure center pushing along the front will provide the energy to produce the precipitation. Freezing rain will fall in the cold air behind the low. The system will move from the Mississippi Valley today into the Ohio Valley for Thursday. For WeatherNation: Meteorologist Mace Michaels
