Damaging Wind Risk for the Northeast Monday Afternoon

A strong cold front moving into the Northeast this afternoon will be the focus for shower and thunderstorm development.  Some storms could be severe with the risk of damaging winds and large hail.  Here is the latest forecast.

Severe Outlook

A "Slight" risk for severe storms today from areas of New Jersey all the way up through the State of Maine.  Isolated to scattered severe storms will be possible.  This will mostly be a damaging wind risk.

Severe Risks

Damaging winds will be the main weather threat for the afternoon and evening with only Maine seeing a risk of both damaging winds and large hail.  The new severe update does not have a risk for tornadoes.

Forecast

The timing for today's storms will be during the afternoon and early evening.  Most of the storms should be moving into the Atlantic by later tonight.  Keep checking with WeatherNation for more severe weather updates.
