Hurricane Francine brought power outages and destruction to parts of southern Louisiana on September 11th, 2024, leaving many without the ability to make meals for themselves. That’s where Mercy Chefs, a non-profit aimed at providing hot meals to disaster-impacted areas, comes in.

The organization has already served more than 15,000 hot, chef-prepared meals to those impacted by Francine in Houma, LA this week, and continues to provide more, said a spokesperson for the agency Amy Avery.

With the help of their mobile kitchens and volunteers, they can craft thousands of meals each day for people to pick up via a drive-through style line and even mobile delivery to those unable to pick up in person within Terrebonne Parish.

You can learn more about Mercy Chef’s Francine response on their website. For those in the area who want to help, you can find more information HERE
