Severe Thunderstorm Watches are in effect for the rest of Sunday. Watches stretch across 5 states in the Plains. Have a way of getting severe weather alerts and join WeatherNation on-air for continued severe weather coverage. THREATS
There is a severe weather threat for the plains region, today. All threats will be possible. Winds could reach anywhere from 58 mph to 70 mph within some of these storms. Hail could be anywhere from 1 to 2 inches in diameter. There is also a tornado risk for today. A 2 to 5 percent risk is in place which means it is likely will be see rotation within some of these thunderstorms.   FORECAST
The first half of the day will be fairly quiet with rain showers in the forecast. It's not until we get to the evening hours where the storms start to fire off anywhere from Iowa to west Texas. Make sure to stay weather aware throughout the evening as some of these storms could linger into early Monday morning.
