This weekend, a huge ridge of high pressure moves into the Northwest! Temperatures will be at times above twenty degrees normal in cities like Portland and Boise. Heat alerts have been issued for Oregon, Washington, and Idaho for the very hot temperatures.

Record highs are likely from Sunday into early next week. Temperatures will gradually drop to near normal levels by end of next week. Some residents in this region my not have properly air conditioning so find ways to beat heat especially during the hottest parts of the afternoon!

SOUTHWEST

While the Northwest is very toasty, the Desert Southwest will be looking at very hot temperatures this weekend into next week. No alerts yet for the Southwest but some could be issued closer to Sunday!
