Severe storms in the forecast today from the High Plains to the southern Rockies.  All modes of severe weather will be possible within any of today's storms.  Here is the very latest.

Severe Outlook

From West Texas to the Dakotas, severe storms will be possible.  These storms will likely be generated by today's strong daytime heating.  So once the sun sets, the severe weather risk will be diminishing.

Severe Risks

The wind and tornado risk will be more isolated compared to the hail risk which will be more scattered in nature.  Hail up to 2" in diameter will be possible in any storms that fire up this afternoon.

Forecast

The latest timing is showing showers and storms taking shape for this afternoon and towards the evening.  It will be during the peak heating hours today when the severe weather risk starts to increase.  Keep checking with WeatherNation for more updates.
