Parts of Virginia and North Carolina could be looking at some severe weather chances today.  A strong cold front will be working through the Mid-Atlantic States today and this could help generate some showers and t'storms.  Some of those storms could be severe with large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

Forecast

Here is the latest timing of the cold front.  We are looking at a early to late afternoon front passage and if we can get some sunshine out ahead of the cold front, that is where we will likely see some severe storms.

Severe Outlook

Here is a look at all of the severe threats we are looking at in this region today.  Damaging winds will be the highest risk with tornadoes and large hail being on the lower side today. (Still a threat, but not as high as damaging winds). Here is the definition of a "Slight" risk from the Storm Prediction Center   Make sure you keep checking WeatherNation On-Air and Online for all the latest information to keep you safe with today's severe weather risk.   Meteorologist Patrick Crawford
