Heavy Snow Across the Southern Plains

A strong storm system has been bringing heavy snow to portions of the Southern Plains with additional accumulations throughout today (Wednesday).  Up to 10" of snow has fallen in parts of Texas and Oklahoma, with more than a foot in New Mexico.

Winter Weather Alerts

Winter storm alerts continue from El Paso to Tulsa. Additional accumulations may approach 6 inches of snowfall.

Forecast

The wintry weather will continue through this afternoon (Wednesday), ending later tonight. Travel will be significantly impacted, with bridges and overpasses having some of the biggest problems.

Snow and Ice Potential

Additional accumulations of 3" to 5" are possible in the heaviest snow bands. A glaze of ice is possible in some areas. Keep it tuned to WeatherNation for more updates on the snow chances.
