The same system that has produced unsettled weather across much of the country is still impacting the East Coast, bringing a surge of moisture into New England. The front will be exiting the Northeast Saturday morning. However, it brought rainfall totals over 6 inches in Massachusetts. The heaviest rain will be moving out, but an area of low pressure will still bring chilly rain to the Northeast throughout the rest of Saturday.

Flood watches have been issued for the risk of flooding. Many locations across Massachusetts still are under a flood watch, and could receive more rain Saturday morning. Some communities could see even higher amounts if thunderstorms repeatedly move over the same areas. Rainfall rates could be intense at times, greatly reducing visibility and generating flash flooding.
The heaviest rainfall, according to our in-house forecast models, remains over portions of CT, RI, and MA.
