Severe weather is expected to continue into Monday morning from the Front Range of Colorado through the Plains of Oklahoma. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a SLIGHT risk (level 2 out of 5) across the front range of Colorado and New Mexico and into Texoma/the Red River Valley of Texas and Oklahoma through Monday morning.
On Sunday, a daily rainfall record was broken in Garden City, Kansas due to locally heavy downpours.
Severe storms from the Front Range to the Red River Valley are expected to lose some of their intensity with the loss of daytime heating, but some of these individual storms may continue to cluster together to produce heavy downpours, strong winds, and large hail.
Due to incoming storms and an increase in tropical moisture, flood alerts have been issued for portions of Oklahoma and Texas for potential flooding in these areas.
Localized areas of rainfall may receive several quick inches according to our forecast model guidance.
