Get ready to sizzle, Southwest!  Excessive Heat Warnings are in place for Thursday and Friday.  High temperatures will rise 10 to 20 degrees above normal in cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix. Record-breaking heat is possible in Las Vegas on Thursday as the forecast high is within one degree of the standing record high. As the summer solstice arrives, temperatures will soar into the 90s in states like Utah and Colorado.  Triple digits will be found further south and west. Be sure to take the necessary precautions to beat the heat!  Drink plenty of water, take a break in the shade or air conditioning, and check on loved ones and pets to make sure they are alright. - Meteorologist Joe Astolfi
