Flooding Concerns Continues in Coastal Texas

Heavy rain continues across portions of coastal Texas, producing areas of flooding. A slow moving low pressure center in the Gulf of Mexico is bringing the excessive rain to the Lone Star State. Flash Flood Watches remain in effect through coastal and southern Texas. Up to 6" of additional rain could fall by Saturday night. The low is not expected to develop into a tropical system, but rich humidity from the Gulf will fuel the high rainfall amounts. As the low moves along the Rio Grande River Saturday, the rain won't be as widespread, but isolated heavy totals will be likely that could produce flooding.
