The sun is shining this morning over most of Montana and the Pacific Northwest, but that is not expected to continue as another storm system will bring wind and snow to the region. Blizzard Warnings have already been issued along the Rocky Mountain Front in Montana. Ground blizzard conditions are expected to develop later today. Snowfall totals of only a few inches are likely in Blizzard Warning area, but with wind gusts as high as 60 mph, blowing and drifting snow will create whiteout conditions. Travel may become impossible in some areas by tonight. https://twitter.com/NWSGreatFalls/status/966800531640520704 Additional winter weather alerts have been issued throughout the Northwest, mainly in the mountains. More than a foot of snow is possible in the higher elevations as snow increases into Saturday. A surface trough coupled with upper level energy will bring the moisture into the region to start the weekend. Edited for WeatherNation by Meteorologist Mace Michaels
