Harrowing Sights Of Tornadoes In Louisiana On Monday

Several violent tornadoes touched down in Louisiana late Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service office in Shreveport, LA will be surveying the damage left behind by several tornadoes that touched down in Natchitoches, Sabine and Winn Parishes . Local officials are reporting a fairly large amount of damage left behind by the tornado that tracked from central Natchitoches parish to southwestern Winn parish. Damage has also been reported farther north into parts of Mississippi and Kentucky. Damage to a nearby hotel in Tupelo, MS will be survey by the National Weather Service office later today as well. The same line of storms that produced severe weather Monday night will continue to trigger more severe storms today across the east coast. The yellow to dark green shaded areas below are areas where severe storms can still be expected today. Meteorologist Merry Matthews
