Ice and snow has been creating travel headaches from the South into the Northeast. Up to a .25" of ice fell in Arkansas into this morning and snowfall accumulations have approached 7" in parts of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect from New England to the Tennessee Valley. Additional ice accumulations are expected to be light, but parts of the Northeast may see a foot of snow. Snowfall will gradually diminish in Cleveland throughout the day, but a wintry mix will fall from Pittsburgh to New York. The rest of the Northeast will see mainly snow. The low pressure center will cross Chesapeake Bay this afternoon and lift into the Northeast. Snow will be widespread and heavy at times. Some mixed precipitation is possible near the low and warm front. The system will move offshore and into the Atlantic Ocean Thursday, bringing an end to the moisture.
