It was an active night in the Southeast Monday as severe storms rolled through the area.

Multiple tornado warnings were issued in Alabama, and the storm that tracked through Jacksonville was of great concern.

The National Weather Service office in Birmingham tweeted out Monday evening that there was a confirmed tornado and that residents needed to take shelter.

As the line of storms moved east, Jacksonville State University was damaged by a tornado.

But after the one storm moved through, another one was on the way, according to the National Weather Service.

After the storms cleared the area, reports of damage started to pour in.

WeatherNation was on the scene not long after the storms moved through to survey the damage. Our own Brandon Clement said that he saw widespread damage across Jacksonville.
