Too Much Rain for the Midwest

Over the last few days, heavy rainfall has impacted several areas thoughout the United States.  One hard-hit area is the Midwest.  In fact, flooding affected many communities in northwest Iowa over the weekend. https://twitter.com/WeatherNation/status/1011318653990547457 Since Sunday, rain totals of 3 to 7 inches were common from Nebraska to Illinois. The city of Cape Girardeau, Missouri witnessed record rainfall on Monday as a powerful line of thunderstorms moved through the region. From the Upper Midwest to the central Appalachians, flash flooding will remain an issue through Monday night. Thunderstorm activity will linger Tuesday and Wednesday and could pose an additional threat for more flooding.
